Is This The Right Plan?

The Planning Commission has finished their recommendations for revisions to our General Plan (click here for the PDF). They will hold a public hearing to get comments from residents on Tuesday, September 19th starting at 5:30pm before considering any final changes based on public input and sending their recommended plan to the City Council for our consideration.

This revised Plan has been in the works for more than a year. The city conducted a General Plan Resident Survey last fall that more than 2,200 residents participated in, and held a number of town halls and a series of Talkabouts this year. All of this was done to get feedback from the community to help shape this new Plan. Let’s see if the Plan reflects all that citizen input.

The Plan will guide not just development, but all City activities for the next five or more years. So please read it and suggest any changes you would like to see at Tuesday’s public hearing. The Plan is 59 pages, but the meat of the plan is just 30 pages.

If you can’t attend, then please email your comments to the Planning Commission. Please email your comments to me too (mscott@ivins.com)
